RAJARAJESHWARI RAGAMPUDI
aka Rj
Rj is a Los Angeles-based Production designer with a profound appreciation for the symbiosis of Storytelling and Spatial design. Her work sits at the intersection of space, emotion, and storytelling — designing environments that move people, not just visually, but viscerally. During her time of studying Architecture in her Undergrad, she completed her thesis titled 'Understanding the Filmic Portrayal of Elements in Space through the Study of Satyajit Ray’s Films to Examine the Human Emotional Relationship with the Built Environment', that stemmed from a fusion of her passion for cinema and the principles ingrained in her architectural training. This set her on a path to unraveling the intricacies between spatial design and emotional resonance in cinematic narratives.
She followed this passion and went on to get an MFA in Production Design from The American Film Institute, launching her career as a Production designer. She is also a part of Issa Rae's ColorCreative Find you People Program as a Production designer and is currently working on a film funded by them. Recently, she designed her first feature film, shot in parts of Texas, and is set to release in 2026.
